Slimathon

Have you ever considered sponsorship to help you lose weight and raise vital funds for a very worthwhile cause? It works like a charm! Running from now until the end of March, choose any 6 week period to get sponsored to lose weight.

The 2009 Slimathon was an incredible success and raised a staggering £72,000 for the NSPCC’s Child’s Voice Appeal.  But in true Slimming World style, we’d like to do even better in 2010! All the money raised will again go to the NSPCC's Child's Voice Appeal in the UK and new charity partner, the ISPCC (Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) in EIRE.

The Slimathon is open to Slimming World members and non members alike, so encourage your friends and family to join in too! If you are interested in taking part you can go along to your nearest group to take up the challenge. You don't have to join Slimming World, you can just collect a sponsor form and get weighed free of charge at the beginning and the end of the 6 weeks. A celebration of Slimming World’s 40th birthday

Throughout September 2009 Slimming World celebrated four decades of success with fun, food and festivities in every group!

From ruby red attire to tasty 1960’s party food – members in groups round the UK and Ireland partied their socks off! We’ve got a taster of the celebrations below…

Members of Trisha Tominey’s Yateley, Hampshire getting into the sixties vibe!

At Consultant Barbara Slocombe’s group in Leeds members tucked into a Free Food buffet complete with a special ruby-dotted birthday cake!

Members of Jackie Ballard’s Hamworthy and Upton groups in Poole enjoyed 1969 music and party food galore!

Consultant Christine Warren in Alexandria held 7 birthday parties for all her members, who dressed in red for a ruby-themed celebration!  

40th birthday celebrations at Lesley Zanone’s Harlow group. Everyone dressed in ruby red and two young members got into the spirit too!
