Save ££s and lose lbs with Food Optimising

don't break the bank

Some diets not only take away our pleasure in food (eating becomes a miserable experience when we have to weigh and measure everything!) they also make a huge dent in our wallets! Some diet plans involve buying huge quantities of expensive meat, or costly supplements. There are even diets that rely on you buying ready-made meals and meal replacement snacks! No wonder these diets just aren’t realistic for long-term weight loss.

Food Optimising is a practical, healthy, balanced diet that doesn’t break the bank and lets you eat the food you want on whatever budget you want.

Free Foods - going cheap!

Buying ready meals can often work out to be poor value for money as the portion sizes are tiny! If you’re anything like me you end up eating two ready meals – which is costly in money and Syns! The massive variety of Free Foods means you can concoct any meal that you fancy, in man-size portions!

Our top 5 bargain basement beauties:

  1. Shepherds Pie - lean minced beef, potatoes, carrots and beef bovril are the only essentials in this dish that’s great for Green or Original (with potatoes/beef taken as Healthy Extras). To save even more £s you could use packet potato mix, although this isn’t a Healthy Extra it’s still Free on Green.
  2. Marinara pasta – tinned tuna, pasta, garlic, mixed herbs and passata make up this substantial supper. On Green count 113g tuna in brine as a Healthy Extra and on Original use 100g wholemeal pasta to make the meal Free on both choices.
  3. Egg, chips and beans – fabulously Free on Green, this is a definite members’ favourite. Our recipe for Free chips makes a cheap treat!
  4. Turkey burgers – turkey mince, onion and parsley moulded into patties makes an economical family meal. Serve with wholemeal rolls and lots of crispy salad for a favourite that’s Free on Original (wholemeal roll as a Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice).
  5. Spanish-style tortilla  – Free on Green and Original (counting potatoes as a Healthy Extra), this dish is a great way of using up your leftover vegetables.
